Graduating with a BA in Economics and Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin in 1987, Susan embarked on a purposeful career journey. Joining Waddell & Reed, she quickly laid the foundation for her investment and planning career, as she funded and managed a private equity portfolio concentrated on new technologies, biomedical advancement, and other areas of innovation.
In 2017, Susan founded Faykus Financial, LLC, a fully Registered Investment Advisory Firm that seeks to lead the multi-generational family wealth management sector. The firm's mission is to bring intentional macro-perspective wealth management to individuals reaching for impact beyond themselves. Currently she is a certified financial planner candidate after her master's level Financial Planning education from The University of Texas at Austin. She continues to deepen her expertise in financial planning and current taxation law to better innovate her practice and to better serve her client families and communities.
As a Trusted Advisor to CEOs of global companies, entrepreneurs, leaders in technology and real estate, non-profits, family foundations, and farmers/ranchers, Susan leads initiatives to design holistic master plans. The passing of Judy’s mother in 2022 heightened her dedication to assisting families in developing clearly defined legacy plans, with the aim of preventing potential communication challenges. With over 35 years of experience in leadership, mentoring, strategic planning, and personal development training, Judy is a Certified Professional Coach. She also holds a bachelors degree in journalism with a minor in marketing.
Currently, Judy is actively pursuing the designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) and is engaged in completing The Journey of Generosity program to further enrich her skills as a Legacy Strategist. With a compassionate communication style and diverse experiences, she skillfully partners with clients to develop comprehensive legacy plans that include philanthropic, personal, and spiritual aspects.

Blaine combines education with the lifetime of hands-on experience, including a background as a farmer, as he relates to clients to help them through the legacy planning process. He is currently enrolled at the American College to earn the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation to greater serve our clients and their families risk management and wealth transfer needs.

Kelsey is a creative who serves the firm as a story teller and communicator. She aims to bring the impactful and significant story of Faykus Financial to life through messaging and communications. Kelsey has tasted and seen the value that Faykus Financial brings to their clients and to the wider world, and she is passionate about communicating this. Through marketing programs, brand management, and communications - Kelsey’s goal is to create an invitational presence, where clients are invited into growing their resources, gifts, and talents for their intended purpose.
Kelsey graduated from Southwestern University with a bachelors in business, paired with a minor in communications. During her time at Southwestern, she collected a plethora of marketing knowledge and gained on-the-ground marketing experience as a marketing intern for a global real estate investment trust. Upon graduation, Kelsey was accepted into a rotational marketing program in the tech world, where she specialized in experiential marketing and product marketing.
After working in the marketing realm for over 4 years, her heart was tugged towards a Christian outreach organization. She also currently works with Young Life, a ministry that has a heart for adolescences to experience adventure, relationship, and truth.
